important news for the romanians (sorry, non-romanians):

and the mind-blowingly exciting thing is that her 2 latest projects are quijote and habarnam!!! the former (her own album/show) is based, of course, on don quixote de la mancha by miguel de cervantes, but the latter (the soundtrack for a play) is probably less obvious for some people... though not for those righteous ones among us who are aware that the adventures of dunno and his friends (aventurile lui habarnam si ale prietenilor sai in romanian, Приключения Незнайки И Его Друзей in the original russian) is the best children's book ever [you can read both the english and the romanian translations online]! to be honest, what i've seen of the actual play at the odeon theater in bucharest, from photos, looks a little disappointing... but that's ok! i still think this undertaking is brilliant and long-overdue. and i still really want to see the play and hear the soundtrack!

on a different note, my "favorite" new quote is: "what do we want? gradual change. when do we want it? in due course." (taken from jen's blog). ha. it totally makes me think of "vedem noi..." ("we'll see...") - probably the most common expression among romanians, even when it comes to organizing; and it's such an (a)pathetic thing to say (which of course doesn't stop me from occasionally saying it, too)! anyway that quote rocks.
