---- two brochures that outline the basic problem and solutions:
** The Crisis in Rape Crisis
"At a time when, to a certain extent, taboos and misconceptions around rape and child sexual abuse have lifted and women feel more able to report rape to the police, most women are getting neither the justice nor the long-term support they need to move on with their lives."

** Press for Change
A guide for journalists reporting on the prostitution and trafficking of women

---- some recent articles from the British press:

** "Rape on trial: Why one woman's attacker went free?"
** "Why is rape so easy to get away with?"
Despite all the reforms to the police and courts, rape victims have only a tiny chance of seeing their attacker convicted.
** "Third of dropped rape cases should have been pursued, says report"
· Police and prosecutors 'not following guidelines'
· Justice gap for victims is widening, warn watchdogs

** "Prejudice, myth, and a system that fails the victim"
** "How can juries understand rape unless the full horror is explained to them?"

---- about The Verdict TV show from Rape Crisis England and Wales:
The Guardian suggests 'Never has a rape trial been so hilarious'. However, many campaign groups have expressed concerns about a forthcoming TV programme which brings celebrities together to participate in a fictionalised rape trial. We have written to the BBC and are awaiting their reply which we will publish when we receive it. For further details about this case see the Truth About Rape website.
