good linkage

first i must recommend "cultural appropriation and 'reverse racism'" at granny gets a vibrator. READ. that blog is so excellent, and this post is a prime example why. [also useful: "white privilege: unpacking the invisible knapsack" (and, while we're at it, "the male privilege checklist", too)]

ok. then, if you're looking for something totally frivolous yet fun, narcissistic and stupid (and who isn't), check this "face recognition" thingy. i tried it with several pictures, and i find the results hilarious. and awesome. i'm getting a lot of guys, and a lot of south east asian people.

for example: (joan cusack, liv tyler, christina aguilera, tori amos, kajol, ronaldo, theodor heuss, matt damon, jodie foster, lara flynn boyle) or (edgar allan poe, chris tucker, grace kelly, charles aznavour, audrey hepburn) or (angelina jolie, diego maradona, ethan hawke, sofia coppola, renee zelwegger, neve campbell, gong li, lara flyn boyle, shiri appleby, robin wright penn) or (mai kuraki, lucy liu, habib burguiba, kim hee-sun, frances mcdormand, wladislaw szpilman, valery giscard d'estaing, nicholas tse, al pacino, winona ryder)

but my favorite has got to be:
(aung san suu kyi, benjamin mckenzie, adriana lima, ernst abbe, joe dimaggio, max von sydow, juan carlos ferrero, hugo weaving, owen wilson, mother teresa)

ha.

and when i put in my favorite photo of me ever:
i get as first result yehuda levi:
and the rest of the list: (heath ledger, stephen chow, pavel nedved, anita mui, shahid kapoor, pete sampras, paul tibbets, tim roth, rani mukherjee)
the cool thing is that the match with yehuda levi is at 71% - and apparently beyond 80% it's pretty much guaranteed to be an exact match. yeah. i am such a stud. (even though in fact i look nothing like this guy.)
